Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable families affected by domestic abuse? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Family Practitioner, providing vital assistance to new and expectant mothers, as well as their unborn or new born children, who are victims of domestic abuse.
Key Responsibilities:
Support mothers and children in a safe, welcoming refuge environment.
Develop and implement safety and support plans tailored to each family's needs.
Work collaboratively with internal and external partners (e.g., health services, police, housing, legal support).
Assist with housing applications, financial records, and ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.
Provide emotional support and promote positive parenting and family relationships.
Engage with families in solution-focused support, advocating for their rights and safety.
Maintain accurate records and case notes in line with policies and procedures.Essential Criteria:
Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in social work or domestic abuse support.
Understanding of the issues surrounding domestic abuse and its impact on families.
Strong communication skills and experience working with vulnerable individuals.
Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, and be part of an on-call rota.
Full driver's license and use of own car.Desirable Criteria:
Experience in domestic abuse-related roles or working in supported housing.
Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection legislation.
Ability to speak Welsh is a plus.
