Victoria Ward consists of 20 beds for older persons suffering from an acute mental health crisis - as a result of conditions such as depression and bi-polar disorder. We provide admission for persons in the South West Surrey district who are in need of short stay inpatient individual assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities:
1. To observe, report, and record changes in the client's physical, mental health, and behaviour.
2. To provide care for people who use our services as planned in Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings.
3. To be aware of and work to the principles of the Mental Health Act (MHA).
4. To give and receive clear messages by telephone and/or personal contact.
5. To provide the necessary physical care to people who use our services to help them complete daily living activities.
6. To respect the customs, individuality, values, sexuality, and spiritual beliefs of individuals.
7. To provide social activities, emotional support, and stability to people who use our services while maintaining professional boundaries.
8. To contribute to the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
9. To create and maintain professional supportive relationships with all members of staff and other professionals to enhance recovery.
10. To provide escort duties to people who use our services under the direction of the nurse in charge.
11. To carry out observations as per individual care plans and client needs, in line with HPT Trust Policy.
12. To participate in co-facilitating therapeutic and social engagement group work, where required.
13. To undertake prescribed physical observations.
