Job Purpose:

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Support Worker to join our team in supported accommodation. Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-quality, person-centred support to young people aged 16-25 in supported accommodation.
* Develop and maintain positive relationships with young people, fostering a safe and supportive environment.
* Assist young people in managing complex behaviours, such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and difficulties stemming from past trauma or exploitation.
* Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including mental health professionals, social workers, and educational staff, to develop and implement individual care plans.
* Support young people in developing life skills, including budgeting, cooking, personal hygiene, and job search skills.
* Conduct regular risk assessments and update care plans accordingly to ensure the safety and well-being of the young people.
* Promote independence and empower young people to make positive choices about their futures.
* Engage with external agencies and advocate on behalf of the young people when necessary.
Shift Patterns:
This is for a Full Time position of 130 hours per month and 10 sleep ins and will be to cover a rolling rota.

* £26,550.00 per annum (plus £22.00 daily shift allowance when supporting a young person who is classed as being in a cycle of persistent challenging behaviours linked to trauma / Mental Health etc)
Qualifications and Experience:
* Previous experience working with young people/adults in a residential or supported accommodation setting is essential.
* Demonstrated understanding of the complexities and challenges faced by young people with mental health issues and histories of exploitation.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with young people.
* Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations, employing de-escalation techniques when necessary.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices in supporting young people with complex needs.
* A valid DBS check (or willingness to undergo one) is required.
