We are excited to be able to go out to advert for a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our expanding Adult eating disorder (AEDS) Countywide community team.
To ensure the systematic provision of a high quality specialist clinical/counselling psychology service to clients as part of a multidisciplinary team. To supervise and support the psychological assessment and therapy provided by assistant and trainee psychologists and other clinical members of the team who provide psychologically based care and treatment.

Main duties of the job
To provide a qualified clinical/counselling psychologist service to adult age client's with eating disorders and complex psychological problems both directly and through advice and consultation to other professionals whilst working autonomously within professional guidelines and to the relevant policies and procedures. The role will involve both direct therapy work and indirect specialist support to the team, overall AEDS service and other agencies.
The post holder will be expected to work with eating disorders, complex psychological problems and distress and provide highly specialist individual, and group psychological assessment, formulations and intervention. It will be expected that the post holder will also provide regular supervision and consultation on client's psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues, working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures.

Education / Qualifications and Relevant Experience
Essential
* Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical counselling psychology
* Current HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist
* Evidence of undertaking training in supervision.
* Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS.
Desirable
* Managerial or supervisory responsibilities.
Skills and Aptitude
Essential
* Skills in training preparation and delivery to a wide range of staff groups
* Good organisational skills
* Skills in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups.

* Advanced keyboard Skills
* Additional training in one or more specialised areas of psychological practice
Knowledge and abilities
Essential
* Experience as a psychologist, working with Adults in either clinical or community settings.
* Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for client's psychological care and treatment, both as professionally qualified care co-ordinator and also within the context of a multi-agency care plan.
* Experience of teaching, training and/or professional and clinical supervision
* Well developed skills in communicating effectively, orally and in writing, highly technical and clinically sensitive information to clients and families, carers and other professional colleagues.
* Knowledge of MEED and NICE Guidance for Adults with ED
* Analysis and evaluation of interventions.
