They are currently working on a pub refurbishment in Northampton.
They are looking for an experienced Painter & Decorator to assist them on the project temporarily until Christmas.
About the Role:
We seek a skilled and reliable Painter to join our team for a pub refurbishment project. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality painting and finishing work, ensuring the interior and exterior of the pub are transformed to meet the desired aesthetic. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the revitalisation of a historic local pub.
Key Responsibilities:
Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and priming walls, ceilings, woodwork, and other surfaces as needed.
Painting: Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes to surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment, ensuring smooth, even coverage and a professional finish.
Decorative Techniques: Implement various decorative techniques (e.g., stenciling, mural work, etc.) as required to enhance the pub’s atmosphere.
Touch-ups: Perform touch-ups and corrections to ensure consistency and quality across all painted surfaces.
Safety and Cleanliness: Adhere to safety guidelines, including the proper use of PPE and tools. Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.
Collaboration: Work closely with other tradespeople (e.g., carpenters, electricians) to ensure a cohesive and efficient refurbishment process.
Quality Control: Ensure all work meets high standards of quality and finishes, keeping in line with the design brief and client expectations.
Time Management: Complete tasks within designated timeframes while maintaining quality standards. Skills and Experience Required:
Proven experience as a painter, with a portfolio of previous work (pubs, hospitality venues, or residential refurbishments preferred).
Knowledge of different painting techniques and materials (e.g., matt, gloss, oil-based paints).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality finishes.
Experience in working on commercial or pub refurbishments is a plus.
Good understanding of health and safety procedures in the workplace.
Ability to lift and carry materials, and use ladders or scaffolding as required.
Excellent time management skills and ability to work to tight deadlines. What We Offer:
