We are currently seeking applications for Teacher Aides to work in the following areas: Early Childhood Learning Enhancement and inclusion – across primary and secondary The Learning Support and Enhancement Program at St Margaret’s incorporates the provision of support to students with additional needs (inclusion, gifted and talented). The focus of this program is a teaching and learning philosophy based on a developmental and differentiated curriculum. The Teacher Aide is focused on assisting with the implementation of a school-based program providing in class support to students under the direction of the class teacher and key personnel across the school, as well as performing general support and administration duties. Key responsibilities of the role include: Assisting with establishing routines, expectations and support in the early years. Assisting to implement the learning enhancement program across primary and secondary. Working directly with students in class to assist in facilitating the learning for students with specific needs. Facilitating small group support to students. Building a rapport with students and staff involved in the Learning Enhancement Program as appropriate. Providing general and administrative support as required. Opportunities are part-time between 3 – 5 days per week during school term time. The ideal candidate The successful candidates will have previous work experience in a similar role and have a natural enjoyment of working with children to bring out their best. They will bring with them: Qualifications as a Teacher Aide and/or qualifications to work in early childhood. The ability to quickly build rapport with students, teachers and parents alike. Competent to support students with English and Maths up to at least a Year 10 level. The ability to work well in a team with teachers, teacher aides and other key personnel across the school.
