About the role We’re offering the opportunity to work at one of the top 100 companies to work for in Europe (Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For in Europe 2024 | Great Place To Work UK) and help tell its story on LinkedIn, Facebook, Insta and X. This role is to showcase its amazing people in their best possible light, to be creative and imaginative and to try different and innovative ways of achieving eye-catching results. Our social content engages audiences to tell our story. We think we do this well – and our followers tend to agree But honestly, there’s so much more of our story that we’d like to cover. This role will be working closely with colleagues in comms, marketing, design, digital and beyond to make sure our messages stand out to people on different channels. The team works across the whole organisation, so being able to persuade and influence people at all levels will be an important part of the everyday job. Creating posts and helping others understand how they can take a great photo or video will be parts of the role. And because not every comment under a post is straightforward to answer, the need to help people engage with positive and negative online feedback in the most suitable way will be key. The role holder will need to develop an understanding of the financial services industry and being able to identify – and anticipate - risks and opportunities. A creative mind is needed but equally so is a safe and reliable pair of hands; dealing with reputational issues both in and outside of normal working hours is expected. About you We’re looking someone creative, ambitious and reliable, preferably working as part of an in house social media team or agency and a range of experience getting results on different social media channels. Experience of creating content for social media will also be needed. You’ll already have video editing skills as well as being confident and creative taking photos and video on a phone. You’d also have knowledge of which trends are working well on different channels - and which ones have already lost their edge. You’ll need excellent relationship management skills as well as working collaboratively across multiple teams. You’ll also be able to produce work plans / schedules and identify opportunities and threats to our reputation. Due to the nature of this role whilst we work on a hybrid basis we’ll also need the successful person to be able to travel to different location and provide occasional cover out of hours and over weekend, when needed. About us As a mutual, we’ve always worked together to improve the lives of others. Now one of the largest Building Societies in the UK, over 3,000 of us share that goal, in our branches and Head Office. Our benefits go beyond basic pay, with a discretionary bonus scheme, a culture of reward and recognition and total support for our wellbeing. We’re serious about equality, of race, age, faith, disability and sexual orientation, but also of personality and the way we think. By being yourself, you’ll make us stronger. You can build so much more than a career. Come and make a difference in our Society, that’s been voted a ‘Great Place to Work’ by our teams. Flexibility and why it matters We understand the need for flexibility, so wherever possible, we’ll consider alternative working patterns.
