Technician (Bowel Cancer Research)

Salary: UofG Grade 5, £26,038 - £30,505 per annum
This post is full-time (35 hours per week) and is fixed term for up to 6 months from start date.

We are seeking to appoint a Technician to provide in-depth technical assistance and contribute to the Bowel Cancer UK funded project titled, “The role of socioeconomic deprivation in future cancer and advanced adenoma risk after bowel screening colonoscopy – biology, healthcare systems and the patient”. The candidate will work within Mr Stephen McSorley’s research group at the School of Cancer Sciences to provide technical and experimental expertise for this research project, which aims to understand if there are biological features in pre-cancerous colorectal polyps, in patients from more socially deprived areas, which are associated with the risk of developing future polyps or cancer.
