MISION
Responsible for the strategy and development of the renewable energy projects (mainly wind, solar and battery projects) from early stage to construction, in accordance with the company guidelines and the business plan.
You will coordinate the project development team in the UK.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Project Identification & Land rights
* Provide support to the origination team in analysing new development opportunities and conducting feasibility studies.
* Secure land rights and negotiate with landowners.
2. Stakeholder & Community Management
* Build relationships with stakeholders, regulators, and local communities.
* Ensure compliance with planning and environmental regulations.
3. Planning & Permitting
* Manage the permitting process from the early stages through to the full discharge of planning consent conditions.
* Negotiate consultancy services and oversee deliverables.
* Identify and manage permitting risks and regulatory challenges throughout the development process.
4. Project Financing & Budgeting
* Prepare, monitor and oversee alignment of assumptions in project input files for the profitability analysis of the projects.
* Prepare and monitor project budgets, ensuring projects stay within financial limits.
5. Project Delivery
* Lead cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
* Closely monitor project profitability to ensure it remains above the target threshold.
* Prepare and track project timelines to ensure milestones are met.
* Ensure alignment with business plan objectives and drive achievement of key targets.
6. Policy & Regulatory Engagement
* Monitor industry policies and represent the company’s interests in government discussions.
* Stay updated on changes in subsidies, regulations, and grid capacity.
7. Risk Management & Compliance
* Identify and mitigate development, financial, regulatory, and environmental risks.
* Ensure projects comply with all relevant laws and standards.
8. Team Leadership
* Manage and develop a high-performing project development team, ensuring continuous growth and skill enhancement.
* Implement effective reporting and project management procedures to streamline processes.
* Foster a collaborative environment and ensure clear communication across all departments.
* Set clear team objectives and regularly monitor progress to ensure goals are met.
9. Sustainability & ESG Leadership
* Ensure projects align with sustainability goals and ESG standards.
10. Commercial Strategy & Market Positioning
* Monitor market trends and competitor activities.
* Negotiate partnerships and joint ventures to strengthen the project pipeline.
* Closely monitor consultants and development partners, understanding and managing the contracts that govern the relationships.
REQUIRED PROFILE
1- ACADEMIC LEVEL
* Master degree in Energy, Engineering, Environmental or related field. MBA is a plus.
2- REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
* 10-15 years of experience in the development of solar and/or wind projects in UK.
* Experience managing a team.
3- SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE
* Deep understanding of renewable energy technologies, particularly in onshore wind, solar PV, and battery storage.
* Deep knowledge and understanding of the planning process and development risks
* Knowledge of grid connection processes and technical requirements.
* Familiarity with environmental impact assessments and regulatory frameworks.
