This is a great time for a highly motivated clinical or counselling psychologists passionate about transformation to join the team and develop the service. This will applied via a strength-based approach to their learning disability practice. Roles are available as part of a well-established, highly professional multidisciplinary team of psychologists, psychiatrists, therapists and nurses. We offer multiple options for further professional development through wider collaborative working with the Essex Learning Disability Partnership, including the development of neuro-developmental disorders, dementia and challenging behaviour pathways. This post is also open to newly qualified psychologists who will be appointed at Band 7 and work through a preceptorship towards Band 8a. Main duties of the job Responsibilities: Work with individual clients to enable them to live their best lives, involving their family/carers, support staff and others involved in their lives. Provide specialist assessments of clients referred to the team based on the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex psychological data. Formulate plans for psychological treatment and/or management of the presenting difficulties based on appropriate conceptual psychological frameworks. Evaluate treatment options, considering theoretical and therapeutic models and assisting clients in making decisions about treatment options. Manage a team of assistant psychologists and trainee counselling/clinical psychologists. Work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the service/team.
