Head of Food Technology

What we are looking for:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly effective teacher to join our Middle Leadership team as Subject Lead for Food Technology, leading the delivery and assessment of our Food Technology Curriculum across Primary and Secondary Phases. The Subject Lead will develop, oversee and monitor the Food Technology Department across all areas of our multi-site school. The successful candidate will play an important role in delivering and modelling high quality lessons, increasing the opportunities for our cohorts of children to access a broad and balanced curriculum. The successful candidate will have a 0.8 teaching timetable, with 0.2 PPA and Management time.
You will be passionate about Food Technology and dedicated to providing outstanding provision for children who may present with challenging behaviour. The subject of Cook & Eat is promoted within WSAPC as a vocational offer providing staff and pupils with lunch each day, and students work towards attainment of a BTEC qualification in Home Cooking Skills. It is a significant part of the timetable to encourage a collaborative, community feeling that we strive to achieve across the organisation. You will need to have an understanding of complex needs and experience in social and emotional health difficulties.

11. Have significant, appropriate and relevant teaching experience along with demonstrated ability to personalise learning and teach high quality engaging, creative and practical lessons.
12. Achieve outstanding student outcomes.
13. Be willing to regularly monitor and support Food Technology across all WSAPC sites, including visiting all sites on a regular basis.
14. The skills & determination to make a significant difference to the lives of the community we serve.
15. Experience of effectively risk assessing activities.
16. Be committed to their continuing CPD and supporting the CPD of the team around them.
You will have:
* QTS/QTLS
* Substantial and relevant experience with Special Educational Needs, preferably SEMH and those that experience barriers to engaging with educational settings.
* Relevant and recent professional development conducive to the post.
* Experience of contributing to successful Ofsted outcomes.
