A long established electronic manufacturing company based on the edge of Maidstone town centre, is looking for a full time person to take over our despatch and storekeeping role.
The main aspects of the roll are receiving and careful packing and despatching of our products to customers around the world. This involves the actual packaging of different size units using different boxes and packaging materials, then using the booking in system online with DHL.
Incoming deliveries from our suppliers need to be checked against the suppliers delivery note, receive them on our computer based stock system and then place them in the correct box in our stores.
Outgoing dispatches require careful, final, once over checking of the equipment to be despatched (looking for blemishes or scratches etc) before carefully packing the items in their despatch cartons and checking all items are being despatched as per paperwork/ computer system. Despatches are booked electronically via the online DHL system and exports require custom paperwork to be submitted.
The successful candidate will be willing to learn our computer system to enable them to generate dispatches and book parcels in with couriers.
Ongoing organising and tidying of the stores to keep them in good tidy order and making sure items are easily located is an important part of the role. A meticulous mind and good memory would be very helpful.
Incoming and outgoing parcels can be heavy and carrying items between stores in different buildings will also be required, therefore any candidate must be experienced with handling goods.
This is a full time position, Monday to Friday 08.30 to 12.30 and 13.00 to 17.00
