New Directions Education are currently looking for a Trainee Teaching Assistant (TA) to work in primary and secondary schools in the following areas-
- Neath Port Talbot
- Swansea
- Ammanford
- Llanelli
- Carmarthenshire
- Pembrokeshire
You will be required to work with groups of pupils across Key Stages, supporting within the classroom with day-to-day activities helping the class teacher. We have full time and part time positions available.
Hours – Must be available 8:30am – 3:30pm
Days – Monday to Friday (within school term time)
Pay rate – From £80 a day.
For this role you will need to:
• Have at least 6 months of work experience in the UK in the last 5 years that involves team working
• Be registered OR be willing to register with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
• Hold a current DBS certificate on the update service OR be prepared to apply for a new certificate.

As a trainee teaching assistant, you’ll be expected to:
• Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
• Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
• Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
• Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
• Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
