Job Title: Pattern / Mould Maker Location: Rotherham Salary: £28,200 - £34,150 per annum Shift Hours: Monday - Thursday 8am - 4:40pm, Friday 8am - 3:30pm (Potential shift change to a 2-shift system)
About the Role: We are seeking a skilled Pattern / Mould Maker to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for receiving pattern assembly techniques from the Design Department, confirming manufacturing routes, and producing high-quality patterns and moulds according to strict specifications. Your expertise will contribute to our overall production efficiency and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive pattern assembly techniques from the Design Department and confirm the manufacturing route. Manufacture patterns as per issued route cards, including SLA patterns, Styrofoam patterns, and sand print moulds. Generate CAM tool paths for Styrofoam patterns using Autodesk Powermill and transfer them to CNC machines in the Pattern Shop. Complete SLA build setups using Lightyear and Magics software for SLA patterns. Perform post-build clean-ups on SLA components. Manufacture running and gating systems either by hand or through CNC machining based on route card references and assembly techniques. Assemble patterns and running/gating systems, preparing them for the ceramic mould department. Ensure all patterns are measured by the CMM department prior to assembly. Operate the 3D sand printing machine and prepare 3D sand printed moulds for casting. Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) as required and ensure timely investigation and resolution. Maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the workspace. Safely operate overhead cranes and forklift trucks as needed.Key Requirements:
Proven experience as a Pattern / Mould Maker or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in CNC machining and operating CAD/CAM software, specifically Autodesk Powermill, Lightyear, and Magics. Familiarity with 3D sand printing technology and processes. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work to strict specifications and tolerances. Ability to raise and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs). Experience with measurement systems, particularly CMM, is advantageous. Forklift truck and overhead crane operation experience is preferred. Flexibility to adapt to potential changes in shift patterns.Shift Pattern:
