About NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde

Job Overview
This is a permanent, fulltime post of 37 hours per week, with a shift pattern of Monday to Sunday. The successful candidates are required to demonstrate flexibility by working within a service, which runs over a 7 day week, 365 days of the year, including night shift. Furthermore, the successful candidates will be expected where absolutely necessary to engage in multi-site working within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in order to achieve the needs of the service.

Unit Description
The unit consists of 9 operating theatres, and a 12 bed recovery room. The unit provides operative care for patients undergoing a range of surgical procedures including Gynaecology, Urology, General Surgery, ENT, obstetric anaesthetics and both elective orthopaedics and trauma. In addition to this and new for 2022 the theatre team undertake the Clyde colorectal robotic list.
Position Details
All posts will have a base location initially in either anaesthetics, recovery or scrub and will then rotate around the specialties following the in house dual training model.
Qualifications and Experience
In addition to having current NMC/HCPC registration, applicants should be enthusiastic, motivated and have an interest in working in the peri-operative environment. Previous experience within the peri-operative environment is a definite advantage; however, full training will be provided with in house perioperative educator support.

The department offers team support and continuing education opportunities, both delivered across GG&C and at Glasgow Caledonia university.
