Job Overview
Based in the outpatient physiotherapy department in Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr, we are seeking dynamic, forward-thinking clinicians to join our team. You will embrace the Health Board values, have excellent communication skills, and a strong team working ethos, as well as the ability to demonstrate leadership qualities. We are searching for a physiotherapist with a solid foundation in core Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy clinical skills, who embraces innovation and is committed to utilising shared decision-making and following evidence-based practice.
Working within the musculoskeletal specialty, you will be independently managing a musculoskeletal clinical caseload with the support of senior clinicians and mentors. You may have the opportunity to work in a supported manner within community outpatient MSK services and new models of care delivery aligned with the ABUHB MSK Transformation programme.
Main duties of the job
The physiotherapy team at Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr are experienced, supportive, and will facilitate and encourage your individual development. They are passionate about continuing to improve and develop services for our local population.
You will work closely with the Administration team and alongside department colleagues. The ABUHB Physiotherapy Service encourages staff development through local and Health Board-wide education, including an extensive core and advanced skills training programme. We also encourage participation in specialty forums, clinical audit, research, and clinical supervision and mentoring.
We have a structured personal appraisal system with annual reviews underpinned by the Knowledge and Skills Framework. You will be actively involved in assisting in the education and mentoring of rotational staff and physiotherapy students on placement from Cardiff University and the University of South Wales.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

* Broad range of clinical experience through a comprehensive Band 5 rotation.
* Experience of participating in and delivering in-service training programmes.
* Varied range of clinical experience within the musculoskeletal specialty.
* Experience of staff supervision.
Desirable criteria
* Evidence of having worked in the UK as a HPC registered physiotherapist.
* Evidence of having worked unsupervised.
* Evidence of having participated in on-call and seven-day service provision where appropriate.
* Previous Band 6 position.
Education/qualifications/training
Essential criteria
* Diploma/degree in physiotherapy.
* Registered with Health Professions Council.
* Appropriate range of Postgraduate education/training.
Desirable criteria
* MCSP.
