We seek an enthusiastic Research Technician to support exciting plant cell biology research projects focused on
A) understanding interactions between the acting cytoskeleton and organelles within plant cells and
B) investigating how the endoplasmic reticulum mediated immunity.
Duties will include, but are not limited to, plant growth and maintenance, plant transformation, screening of plant lines utilising routine molecular biology techniques and/or microscopy, phenotype assays, image analysis, maintenance of DNA and seed inventories, and preparation of standard operating procedures. With a background in biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology and/or plant biology you will be expected to be conscientious and dependable with excellent organisational skills, common sense and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a small team ensuring compliance with Health and Safety requirements at all times. A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and become proficient in new techniques including plant growth and husbandry is essential.
