Due to the current post holder retiring in May 2025 we now have a vacancy within our Stores Department at HRI. As part of a locally based Receipt & Distribution/Materials Management Team based at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary the post holder will:
• Ensure that goods obtained are received & distributed in the most efficient manner.
• Manage the internal distribution of printer consumables.
• Prepare and receipt electronically delivered goods/services.
• Provide administrative and clerical support to the Materials Management Team.
• Receive goods from suppliers and NHS Supply Chain daily ensuring that these are promptly offloaded, receipted and distributed to the
customer.
• Receipt and query using the Trust’s computerised purchase order system (iProc)
• Resolve basic customer queries/complaints.
• File and upkeep of appropriate records on behalf of the customers in accordance with audit procedures.
• Ensure that repairs and parcels for return or collection are dealt with in the appropriate manner and liaise with customers/suppliers as required.
• To undertake all duties to the required standards of cleanliness and security, observing fire precaution, Health and Safety at Work and
reporting of any defects to the immediate line manager.
• Develop and maintain a sound knowledge of products.
• Work closely with other members in the Materials Management Team at HRI and the wider Procurement and Supplies Department.
• Contribute to the development and performance of the Receipt & Distribution Team and to the Trust’s business plan by personally
participating in training and development activities, and by suggesting areas of change within the department.

• The successful applicant must be flexible together with a team centered approach.
• Skills and confidence to have the ability to work independently without direct supervision.
• Able to work under pressure to meet the daily deadlines of an extremely busy department.
• Good level of computer literacy as there will be daily access to a range of supporting IT solutions
• The role involves a significant amount of manual handling, loading & unloading of cages and using pallet trucks.
• The successful applicant must be reliable, punctual, motivated, committed, be able to multi task and build relationships.
• Exposure to dust, dirt, ward smells, inclement weather. Transportation and storage of contained hazardous substances.
