Description
We’re building the next UK-headquartered engineering powerhouse.
There is a gulf between the needs of mission-focused organisations and the development and delivery of the critical technology they rely on. The consequences of this are felt acutely by underserved frontline operators, demanding a new breed of engineering enterprise to bridge this divide.
Rowden exists to meet this need. We design and build systems, infrastructure, and applications to deliver mission advantage to those working to protect the security of the UK and its allies. Rowden is setting a new standard in government technology provision: hyper-efficient engineering, better customer relationships, and rapid assimilation of commercial technology.
We’re looking for driven and ambitious Account Executives, each dedicated to increasing our footprint across four key domains: Land, Central Government, National Security & Intelligence and International (with a focus on the Joint Expeditionary Force). With a deep understanding of Rowden’s product lines and the unique challenges faced by frontline operators, you’ll be responsible for selling tailored systems and computing solutions that deliver mission-critical advantages. Recognising that no two systems or situations are alike, Account Executives will see these distinctions as opportunities for creative problem solving, leveraging a diverse ecosystem of partners and creating value for the end-user.
Success in this role requires adaptability, a relentless end-user focus, and ownership of outcomes. You’ll thrive by building strong relationships, navigating complex procurement processes, and clearly demonstrating Rowden’s value to senior government officials.
Key areas of responsibilities
As Rowden’s Account Executive, you will be responsible for:
* Proactively generating new leads and building a strategic account plan to grow Rowden’s presence in your domain.
* Building customer profiles to understand their unique needs, programmatic and technical roadmaps, and the competitive landscape. You’ll identify and create realistic growth strategies tailored to these insights.
* Working closely with engineering, legal, sales and leadership teams to shape sales strategies and shepherd engagements from initial meeting to contract signing. This includes taking responsibility for written communications and proposals.
* Developing a deep understanding of Rowden’s product lines and demonstrating how they address challenges faced by government agencies and frontline operators.
* Consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets by securing multi-year government contracts.
* Establishing and growing relationships with senior decision-makers across government organisations, positioning Rowden as a trusted partner.
* Serving as the key point of contact between Rowden and key account stakeholders and represent Rowden at industry events and conferences.
* Communicating Rowden’s value to customers, partners, and competitors, conveying the company’s ethos, insights, and competitive advantages.
Key skills, experience and behaviours
We are looking for someone who is passionate about technology and can expertly navigate both the technical and commercial aspects of our offerings. You’ll gain loads of experience in this role but before you do, you should have:
* Extensive experience working in or with central government (e.g. Home Office, Emergency Services).
* Experience with long and complex sales cycles, with a good understanding of how central government customers buy (incl., familiarity with frameworks and tendering procedures).
* Proven track record of sales within the public sector, ideally selling technology or engineering solutions.
* Ability to clearly understand customer requirements and effectively communicate how Rowden’s solutions meet those needs, adapting the message to audiences with varying levels of technical expertise and seniority.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at different levels within an organisation.
* Experience building and maintaining relationships, and collaborating with internal partners and external counterparts.
* Excellent writing skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts.
* Ability to travel per business needs.
About you
You will be a dynamic, proactive individual with a passion for engineering and technology and capable of driving sales and building strong, lasting relationships. The behavioral competencies that we believe are key to success in the role are as follows:
* Mission-first mindset – You prioritise the mission and our customers’ needs, always focused on delivering the best possible outcomes for the users of our systems.
* Ownership mentality – You take ownership for your pipeline and results, working autonomously and contributing to a high-performance culture.
* Technical aptitude and intellectual curiosity – You are comfortable communicating technical concepts within the context of the customer’s mission.
* Problem solver - You think creatively and find practical solutions to complex challenges, bringing fresh perspectives that enhance Rowden's market position.

Our Mission:
To create the best possible technology for frontline operators.
We’re upending the conventions of government technology provision and bringing a leaner, more transparent, and lower-friction approach that reduces waste and places outcome over process. We believe every possible measure should be taken to provide frontline operators in today’s dynamic and rapidly changing world with the technology they need to help keep themselves and others safe.
Our Vision:
We offer fast and flexible solutions to the technical challenges of public sector organisations.
We are specialists in software-centric systems, with deep expertise in developing capabilities for constrained networking environments or with challenging cyber security requirements. But the Rowden difference is as much cultural as it is technical: ‘what we do’ and ‘how we do it’ are equally important. We are specifically organised to create and sustain pace, reduce waste and inefficiency, and drive better outcomes. You’ll see and feel that energy and intent all over our business.
What matters to us?
* Our focus is on the end user. We exist to deliver the best possible outcomes for the users of our systems.
* Pace matters. The problems we solve are urgent.
* Our diverse skills and backgrounds make us better. Our team prides itself on being inclusive and multidisciplinary.
* We are radically honest. Saying what we mean, even when it isn’t easy.
* We are pragmatists. We provide realistic, focused solutions that get to the point.
* We improve continuously. We are relentless in our drive to make things better.
