Come join our team Summary: VES is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team in Aberdeen, Scotland location. Senior Accountant of covering UK and French legal entities. This person will be responsible for reconciling and maintaining the general ledger, preparing month end close procedures and ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all company’s accounting tasks. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned. Review and manage accounts payable and receivables. Review and analyze financial data and create reporting based on the results. Help prepare weekly cashflows and updating 13 week cash forecast. Assist with the group and statutory audit and preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS standards. Assist with the tax return and supporting the entities tax advisors with supporting documentation. Support business processes and ensure accounting is in line with group accounting policies. Ensure that accounting is in compliance with IFRS. Create staff payrolls. Ad hoc ELT reporting & support. Serves UK and Europe. Develops and manages the global consolidation reporting including taxation. Business process re-engineering all consolidated accounts to improve efficiency & effectiveness of reporting and improving quality of data & data integration. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration from an accredited university. Professional certification strongly desired. Part qualified will be considered. Thorough understanding & knowledge IFRS. Experience in ERP – particularly SAP is preferred. Typically, at least five years of relevant work experience in a finance department. Experience in a similar industry is preferred. Profound experience with typical accounting procedures. Experience with general ledger functions and the month end / year end process. Previous experience of payroll. Advanced user of Excel. Must be able to comprehend and communicate accurately, clearly, and concisely in English. French is an advantage. Ability to display strong management skills including planning, prioritization, objective setting, and plan execution. Ability to engage in persuasive discussions at top management levels and clearly present the Company’s positions with regard to treasury operations.
