Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Newquay
Pay: £85-£90 per day

The school are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team and make a real difference in the lives of their pupils.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide 1:1 and group support to pupils with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and other additional needs.
2. Support the class teacher in implementing individual learning plans (EHCPs) and differentiated activities.
3. Assist with the development of communication, social, and academic skills for pupils with SEND.
4. Use appropriate interventions and strategies, such as visual aids, Makaton, or sensory activities, to support pupils' learning and engagement.
5. Monitor and report on the progress of pupils, ensuring that each child feels valued and understood.
6. Collaborate with teachers, SENDCo, and external professionals to ensure that each child receives the tailored support they need.
7. Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour through a nurturing and patient approach.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience working with children with SEND in a school or educational setting (mainstream or special).
2. Knowledge of strategies to support pupils with Autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
3. Patience, empathy, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
4. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
5. A relevant qualification in childcare, education, or SEND (desirable).
6. Experience working with EHCPs and implementing tailored learning strategies (desirable).
7. An enhanced DBS on the update (We can help obtain one).

Salary / Pay Rate will be dependent on your skills and experience.
