The Population Health Research Network (PHRN) is an internationally significant research infrastructure that operates and further develops Australia's national data linkage network. The University of Western Australia is the host institution for PHRN.
Established with the backing of the Australian Government as part of the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy and supported by Australian governments and tertiary institutions, the PHRN has built a network that enables health and other human services data from around the nation to be brought together and made available for vital health and health-related research purposes.
This research allows healthcare planners, providers, and policymakers to respond more effectively to the changing needs of the Australian population.
About the opportunity
The Population Health Research Network (PHRN) is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to manage and drive its development. As the Chief Executive, you will create new research opportunities and strengthen collaborations between PHRN participants and stakeholders. You will lead the expansion of Australia’s data linkage infrastructure and promote the use of linked data, implementing strategic plans and policies, and maintaining relationships with key partners.
This appointment offers a unique opportunity for an experienced professional with substantial expertise in strategic development of national research infrastructure, board collaboration, and corporate governance. Excellent consultation, negotiation, budget management, and financial planning skills are essential. Experience with government and industry leaders in program implementation and development is highly desirable.
The Chief Executive reports to the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Health and Medical Research).
