What is the role?
The Strategic Asset Replacement Lead (SARL) works across functions with the Exec, SLT, Programme Managers, and stakeholders to overcome ambiguity to deliver effective solutions to develop and deliver engineering's asset replacement strategy. The SARL leads the strategic thinking and sponsorship for the Engineering Asset Replacement Programme, playing a key role in delivering London Gatwick's Capital Investment Plan. Leading a team of SMEs, the SARL will draw on the breadth of knowledge and expertise available to them to ensure project outputs are recognised in the best way possible while maintaining a sound strategic foundation and balancing the requirements of different stakeholders to bring everyone on the journey.
What will you do?
* Accountable for the development and delivery of Engineering's asset replacement strategy in line with London Gatwick's capital investment plan and lead sponsor for all large (>£1m) asset replacement projects.
* Exploit synergies and opportunities to maximise the return on investment from asset replacement programmes and realise productivity benefits to streamline approach and outputs while maintaining a resilient conclusion.
* Manage and positively influence key Stakeholders to ensure project success and support for strategic growth and strategies.
* Lead a team of SMEs to provide industry leading, innovative, and reliable solutions to maximise value for Gatwick, Shareholders, and Stakeholders.
* Champion a modern and strategic approach to emerging technologies to develop smart initiatives to create efficiencies, identify opportunities for savings, and continuous improvement.
* Accountable for London Gatwick's technical standards and compliance with building regulations ensuring all projects are delivered in adherence to the latest regulations and statutory requirements.
* Establish and maintain effective relationships and engagement initiatives across all stakeholders to facilitate sustainable and resilient solutions and outcomes.
* Strategic alignment of the asset replacement plan and sustainability programme to balance operational effectiveness, commercial benefits and sustainable outcomes.

* Proven proactive leadership to promote compliance to procedures, legislation, and governance.
* Strong people leadership and influencing skills to communicate across the business and with external stakeholders.
* Experience in delivering strategic outcomes associated in complex, large, multi-faceted organisations.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to make complex issues understandable for wider audiences, engage and motivate cross function teams of internal and external staff and harness support to achieve Gatwick's strategic goals.
* Experience of operating in an airport environment and ability to balance delivery against the pressures of an operation.
* Proven experience of leading a multi disciplined team with the ability to engage and motivate cross function teams of internal and external staff and harness support to achieve Gatwick's strategic goals.
* Strong analytical skills, interpreting, combining and manipulating data to drive effective, evidence-based decision making.
