Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Planning Engineer to join our team in Warrington, United Kingdom. As a Planning Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of our engineering projects in the water and energy sectors by developing, implementing, and monitoring project plans.
Develop comprehensive project execution plans, schedules, and resource allocations
Analyse the project requirements and create detailed work breakdown structures
Identify potential risks, and propose mitigation strategies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify all project requirements and agree timescales
Utilise planning software (preferably Primavera P6) to produce tender stage programmes
Conduct resource forecasting and optimisation to improve project efficiency
Assist in the development of project budgets and cost estimates
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for planning processes
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or related field)
Minimum 3 years of experience in engineering industry or related field
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera P6)
Strong knowledge of CAD software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
Ability to develop and manage complex project schedules
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Experience in construction or infrastructure projects
Knowledge of construction methodologies and techniques
Understanding of project scheduling and resource allocation principles
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations
Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Professional certification in engineering/ project management (e.g., CEng or PMP) is desirable
