An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and ambitious Project Planner to work with the Regional Office of this busy national main contractor group, based in Southampton.
Working within a specialist team, you will have programme input to multiple projects at tender, second stage preconstruction, and through the construction phase, including review of progress and support to live projects.
You will be responsible for producing detailed and fully linked programmes of construction works, resource charts, logistics plans, plus have input to methodology and lead-ins for design and procurement.
The role will also involve site visits for progress assessment and reporting. Working with site teams, you will have input to re-programme construction activity to maintain progress on the target programme.
About the Company/Client/Project:
The role is with the Hampshire regional office of this busy main contractor covering the South Coast.
This role is with a specialist division of the wider business focusing on special projects up to £10m in value, often refurbishment and/or new build extensions in live operational environments, working and coordinating closely with clients and stakeholders.
The business is involved in a range of national and regional frameworks including MoD, MoJ, NHS, DEFRA, DWP, etc., so projects are secured on a mix of mini competitions, direct awards, and negotiated work for repeat clients.
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
You will ideally be an experienced Project Planner with 5+ years of experience in the role for a main contractor; ideally from an engineering and site management/project management background with a main contractor. You will possess clear communication skills, planning and problem-solving ability, technical knowledge with excellent attention to detail, and a positive, 'get it right first time' approach.
Experience of and ability to use ASTA Powerproject is essential, plus the ability to effectively program construction activities for projects and previous practical site experience to support this.
You will possess sound technical knowledge together with the experience of working with a large project main contractor construction team.
