Category Manager – Animal Health & Dairy Hygiene
Location: Oswestry Office/Remote (3 days/week at Oswestry Office, SY10 8NH)

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Commercial Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Managing the Animal Health and Dairy Hygiene product categories and ensuring all objectives and targets set are being met, to achieve delivery of annual agreed budgets
* Leading your category to ensure full understanding of the market and customer to identify the strongest range and supplier options to maximise our financial return
* Constantly seeking out potential new suppliers globally to enable points of differentiation, innovation, improved relationships with a focus on the products that offer the most growth potential
* Proactively driving collaboration with marketing, technical leads and all routes to market (stores, field sales, telesales and online) by leading the product proposition and promotion including data sheets, events, customer and prospect communication, etc for both retail and wholesale options as required
* Reviewing current product branding activity to increase brand awareness and value
* Working with the distribution team to ensure cost effective customer delivery
* Providing input into the annual budgeting process
* Offering, coordinating and evaluating product and SQP training to Wynnstay retail and sales teams
* Successfully managing complaints
* Ensuring that deadlines are managed and delivered on time for company promotional material and literature and any other relevant time-critical projects under your remit
The Person
The successful candidate:
* Proven track record in similar role or at the level of Category Manager, preferably in an agricultural capacity
* Sound commercial acumen with strong understanding of Animal Health/Dairy Hygiene products
* A lateral, innovative thinker, and problem-solver able to contribute & define future category strategy
* A motivational team-leader focused on managing, supporting and developing their team to achieve their full potential
* A good knowledge of procurement techniques, research and analysis
* Self-disciplined, with excellent time management skills, and flexible in order to achieve results
* Good inter-personal skills and ability to deal with people from diverse backgrounds
* Self-confident, decisive, resilient and the ability to thrive under pressure in a fast moving challenging environment
* Flexibility with hours and mobility, including on weekends and bank holidays
* Possess a full clean UK driving license
