We are looking for a Construction Project Manager to join our Capital and Facilities team based in London.
We are a client team of Project Managers focused on delivering world-class facilities in a modern and fresh way for our patients, consultants, and healthcare colleagues. As a Construction Project Manager, you will undertake the project management of small to medium-sized projects within an existing portfolio of hospital buildings in the UK, encompassing anything from new technology, diagnostic imaging replacements, new theatres to entire new hospitals and beyond.
We have a strong pipeline of work for 2025 and beyond and are looking to add a versatile project manager with excellent stakeholder management and exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal). Healthcare experience is desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
In order to maximize the team’s learning and knowledge sharing, we expect our PMs to be in our team space at Head Office or on-site managing projects circa 4 days per week, with flexibility on home working 1 day per week as required.

What you will do:
* Act in the role of client project manager for capital projects in the built environment across HCA Healthcare UK.
* Lead the project engagement with all key stakeholders, establishing clear lines of communication throughout the project lifecycle.
* Deliver high-quality solutions on time, to the right scope, and on budget, with minimum disruption to hospital and corporate operations.
* Ensure projects are delivered as sustainably as possible while meeting rigorous industry standards for healthcare projects.
* Drive value for money through the management of tender processes, maximizing the business benefit from capital investment.
* Support the senior team in preparing project briefs and early business case information for new projects.
* Manage the commercial outcomes of the project, including forecasting and accruals with support from our team of excellent QS’s.
* Manage and report on project risk, issues, and opportunities as part of the wider capital programme.
* Appoint and lead external teams of consultants from project inception onwards from our small framework of high-quality design and construction professionals.
* Support the contract development and administration process for each project.
* Work with clinical and purchasing team colleagues to ensure equipment needs are identified early in projects and delivered on time and on budget.
What you will bring:
* Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal.
* Demonstrable stakeholder engagement and management skills; comfortable presenting to Exec level/Board members.
* A track record in delivering client-side multi-disciplinary projects, with a solid grasp of the construction process from briefing through to post-completion.
* Proven experience of successful client project management using contemporary tools such as critical path analysis and risk management.
* Demonstrable experience of contract negotiation with building and equipment contractors.
* An understanding of construction legislation, Building Safety Act, Building Control, Planning Law, CDM, etc. Knowledge of working on listed buildings is desirable.
* Hold an industry-recognized qualification with a successful track record of methodology use and implementation.
* Practical working knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
* Exceptional IT Skills – MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
