Base - Scarborough
The Estates Department is looking to recruit a highly motivated trained individual to join our Estates Team as a Joiner. This rare opportunity offers experience working within a large healthcare estate.
On a day-to-day basis, you typically will:
* Carry out minor and general joinery installation work, door locks, fire seals, fire doors, window checks, etc.
* Interpret and work from instructions, drawings, and specifications with minimal supervision, completing jobs on Micad via PDAs
* Undertake routine maintenance (PPM)
* Liaise with key stakeholders regarding building maintenance and new minor work schemes
The successful candidate will be based in York but must be willing to work at any of the Trust's sites as required. You will work day shifts Monday to Friday, with flexibility to cover other Trust sites. Appropriate training will be provided.
Main duties of the job
* Perform work appropriate to core skills to a high standard, managing work effectively with minimal supervision.
* Work across trades, acquiring new skills and participating in training to enhance efficiency and flexibility.
* Understand the functions of all plant and electrical/mechanical services to make competent judgments impacting service delivery.
* Maintain and repair complex locking systems to ensure property security.
* Investigate and repair structural faults across building types, demonstrating problem-solving skills.
* Work cooperatively with electrical, mechanical, and building managers, demonstrating motivation, reliability, and resilience, especially under pressure.

Person specification
Qualifications
* Completion of recognized CITB, EIBT, or C&G apprenticeship (or equivalent)
* Valid driving license with category B
* No more than 12 points on license within 3 years (or 6 points within 2 years for new drivers)
Experience
* Experience in building infrastructure
* Maintaining mechanical plant and equipment, fault finding
