Job summary As a Health Professions Council (HCPC) registered Biomedical Scientist, to lead and supervise the day-to-day delivery of a diagnostic service of Clinical Biochemistry, which includes the Automation section (2 x Cobas 8000 and P612), Immunology (Phadia 250), HbA1c's (TOSOH G11), EQA section and Osmo1. To work closely with senior staff in Haematology, Blood Bank and specimen reception to ensure the smooth running of the blood sciences service. Please speak to the Recruitment Team if you have any questions Main duties of the job To provide advanced Biomedical Science technical support within a section by providing training, advice, technical development, troubleshooting and supervision. To supervise and coordinate validation and verification as and when required. To oversee stock control and ordering of reagents and consumables in all sections in Clinical Biochemistry. Oversee training to BMS and all grades of support staff, updating training documents, and ensuring training is undertaken according to the training policy and training programmes of the department to maintain IBMS training approval and UKAS standards.
