Responsible for all aspects of engineering on site and overseeing Setting-out engineers and Sub-contractors and responsible for Temporary works on site.
Ideally you will have experience with a Large Cut and Carve commercial/Hotel refurbishments.
The Project:
A £170m hotel fit out in the heart of Southwest London. Demolition works to facilitate the new layouts including strip out of all rooms. Refurbishment of 895 guestrooms and construction of 8 new guestrooms and a rooftop extension to accommodate new roof top bar! Remodelling of public areas and refurbishment of associated corridors which includes reconfiguration of internal areas within the basement to house a spa, pool and gym facility.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Maintaining up to date construction drawing racks and register
2. Checking and surveying the Existing services prior to the start of the job
3. Checking coordination and dimensional checks on Architectural and Structural drawings
4. Checking building layout in relation to site boundary
5. Carrying out site surveys
6. Surveying existing buildings and drainage
7. Overall responsibility for setting out all elements and controlling line and level
8. Oversee Temporary Works on site
9. Checking the reinforcement (part of pre-pour QA)
10. Level surveying and slab edge surveying after the concrete pour
11. QA for frame works and cube testing and checking formwork and temporary work against design by others.
12. Ordering all RC frame materials (concrete, rebar, halfens etc.) and ordering the groundwork materials (drainage & waterproofing)
13. As built survey for lift shaft, stairwell and up stands for subcontractors and resolving any setting out problems and raise and track RFIs
14. General responsibilities for site safety
15. Use 4 Projects and Fieldview
We’re Looking For:
1. BSc in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
2. Temporary Works accreditation along with being Competent in all aspects of temporary works with a detailed understanding of quality control and construction safety.
3. Field view Experience
4. Ability to use 4 Projects and read/ communicate drawing
5. Competent in all types of dimensional control and be a problem solver within the design and build arena
