Job Description Overview As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students with special needs, such as autism and ADHD, in a full-time capacity. Your main responsibility will be to assist the class teacher in managing behaviour and creating an inclusive learning environment for all students. Responsibilities Support students with special needs in the classroom, providing one-on-one assistance as needed Assist the class teacher in implementing behaviour management strategies Adapt and modify learning materials to meet the diverse needs of students Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment for all students Collaborate with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other professionals to ensure the individual needs of students are met Qualifications Experience working with students with autism, ADHD, or other special needs Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and strategies Strong communication and interpersonal skills Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with diverse learners Relevant certifications or training in special education or support work is desirable Day-to-day Providing support to individual students with special needs Assisting with behaviour management in the classroom Collaborating with the class teacher to implement inclusive teaching practices Communicating regularly with the SENCO and other professionals to provide updates on student progress
