This role will be responsible for leading and delivering capital investment projects aimed at improving operational efficiency, increasing production output, reducing costs, and driving sustainability across our manufacturing site. This role requires a hands-on problem solver with a strong engineering background, project management skills, and an interest in new technologies and AI for process optimization. Drive a safety-first culture, ensuring all activities contribute to zero harm. Manage capital investment projects from concept to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to specification. Manage projects through structured project management and documentation. Identify and implement improvements to enhance production output, deliver efficiencies, reduce waste, and improve cost-effectiveness. Work closely with production and maintenance teams to optimise equipment and production processes. Research and evaluate new technologies, automation, and AI-driven solutions for to optimise manufacturing processes and improve plant performance. Engage with and work collaboratively with internal departments, suppliers, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution and zero harm to contractors. Work closely with operations and maintenance teams on root cause analysis and structured problem-solving to resolve technical issues and implement robust solutions. Drive urgency, determination, and a systematic approach to remove roadblocks to resolve issues and deliver projects in an optimal fashion. Oversee and assess new and existing processes and workflows, to devise, implement and test new strategies to help optimise productivity Manage key performance indicators which demonstrate value, performance, reliability, efficiency along with project delivery measures including Return on Investment Analyse data to identify areas that need improvement and upgrades by developing best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality output Provide technical expertise and guidance to operators, maintenance teams, and contractors. Create and publish work instructions and Standard operating procedures for new equipment and processes. Budget /Financial responsibility manage budgets and spends Be an ambassador for the company values and at the forefront of a culture of continuous improvement Take on any other duties as directed Essential Criteria Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or HNC or HND in a relevant discipline with time served A minimum of 5 years experience gained in a manufacturing environment, or similar role Project Management Experience Evidence of increasing plant capacity Delivery of operational efficiencies Root cause analysis & fault-finding experience on automated machinery & electrical systems Ability to read, interpret and apply information from various sources Skills and Competences A change leader who can initiate and deliver change and take people with them.
