Role: Special Services Engineer – Vertical Transportation Location: Home Based Salary: Circa £54,000 per annum dependent on experience Role Description We are at an exciting time within Allianz, Engineering, Construction & Power Due to our continued success we are expanding our teams and are recruiting a Special Services Engineer – Vertical Transportation (VT) The purpose of the Special Services Engineer role is to develop and maintain a profitable, fee-earning service, providing specialist surveys, technical assessments and specialist services within the Vertical Transportation discipline including the provision of the full range of Engineering Technical Integrity Services. The Special Services Engineer develops and project manages contracts to provide solutions for our client base, ensuring compliance with our Engineering Standards, Regulation and contract law and acts as a subject matter expert in their relative field of experience and qualification. About You Essential Skills: Strong communication and negotiation skills. Detailed knowledge and experience of the compliance regulations:. Detailed knowledge of Directive (2014/33/EU) (Lift Directive) & Directive (2006/42/EC)(Machinery Directive) Detailed knowledge of the requirements of BS EN81 series, BS 6640:2011, EN 115 series and any other relevant standards. Proven experience of delivery of VT services such as Full Condition Surveys, Pre Hand Over Audits, End of Defects Liability Surveys, Maintenance Audits, Passenger Release Training, Authorising Engineers services, Authority to Proceed, Witness testing and snagging. Extensive lift/escalator industry experience on a broad range of manufacturers equipment. Detailed knowledge of LOLER/PUWER inspection requirements. Experience of the health and safety regulations applicable to the inspection industry, including detailed knowledge of the role of the competent person and these activities Excellent technical report writing skills. Desirable Skills Awareness of Inspection markets, and regulatory market. Knowledge of obsolescence. Qualifications Recognised engineering qualification Able to achieve professional registration MSOE/MIPlantE/MIET/IMeche or equivalent Key Accountabilities Under the direction of the Special Services Engineer Team Leader, develops and maintains a commercially profitable service through project management of selected business partner(s), approved sub-contractors, or engineer surveyors, for the provision of specialist services within the relevant discipline to support our core in-service inspection clients. Draws up, certifies and approves procedures in line with relevant Company procedures and regulatory standards. Carries out surveys and performs technical audits on behalf of Special Services and Engineering Standards. Produces and maintains scopes of work, procedures, reports and other supporting technical documentation in accordance with the requirements of Company quality systems. Acts as a Company representative and provides specialist technical advice to internal and external customers. Carries out client presentations, internal and external technical training/awareness programmes in order to support the provision of specialist services, together with the production of marketing material. Provides detailed monthly accounts for the provision of selected specialist services and propositions and MI for the Special Service account and Inspection account areas.
