We currently have two Project Officer vacancies to join our Home Energy West Yorkshire team. This is your chance to play a crucial role in transforming West Yorkshire’s social housing landscape while contributing to major environmental objectives. Vacancy 1: As part of the Retrofit Delivery Team, you’ll support the Programme Coordinator to work with our Social Housing Providers and the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero to help deliver the Warm Homes Social Housing Fund scheme. You’ll play a key role in retrofitting social housing stock to achieve an Energy Performance Certificate C, improving residents' lives by reducing fuel bills and CO2 emissions, while contributing to the Net Zero by 2038 target. Vacancy 2: In this diverse role, you’ll support the Programme Coordinator to deliver the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund programme, to ensure all targets and milestones are achieved effectively, maximising the benefits felt by West Yorkshire residents. You’ll also help maintain the momentum of ongoing retrofit projects and contribute to long-term programme development aimed at delivering retrofit projects across West Yorkshire. The Role Reporting into the Programme Coordinator, your key responsibilities will include: Management and support of Social Housing Consortiums. We have a great relationship with our consortium of social housing providers. Supporting them involves facilitating, organising and leading monthly performance meetings, maintaining an important level of partnership working, ensuring the collection and analysis of monthly data, managing risks proactively, and securely handling sensitive information. Data Management. The role requires proficiency in handling and processing a wide variety of data types, interpreting this data in the context of each housing providers performance, and aligning it with consortium milestones. Being proactive in dealing with complex data and engaging with a diverse range of programme partners, anticipating issues and problem-solving before they escalate is important. Technical proficiency. A strong background in Microsoft products, e.g. Excel, is necessary for analysing monthly data reports efficiently within tight deadlines. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is required, especially when handling complex, confidential information. Financial and milestone analysis. Demonstrating financial acumen, interpreting complex financial and milestone information from various sources is key. You will be accountable for budget planning, forecasting, and the preparation of reports. Contribution to assurance processes. Participating in West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s assurance and business case processes, adhering to internal protocols, and contributing to programme boards are key responsibilities. Cross-departmental collaboration. Working closely with Legal, Finance, and Commercial departments to manage procurement, contract negotiations, data sharing and grant funding agreements with delivery partners. Deputy responsibilities. Acting as a deputy for the Programme Coordinator when necessary, making independent decisions about progressing, challenging, deferring, or escalating issues as appropriate.
