Payroll Senior sought to join a well established and highly regarded accountancy firm in Bury St Edmunds. This full-time role can bebined with an element of home-working under the firm’s agile working policy. You will be joining a small but busy team, acting for a large number of clients over a broad range of sectors including manufacturing, hospitality, construction, and logistics, meaning this role offers an interesting and varied portfolio of work.The roleThis is a role with real scope to further develop your existing payroll skills.
You will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing for a number of clients, as part of a small team reporting to the payroll manager.Responsibilities will include:
1. End to end payroll processing for a range of clients
2. BACs payment processing
3. Direct client contact
4. Payroll query resolution
Essential skills required:
5. Able to work in an accurate, diligent and methodical manner with excellent attention to detail
6. Able to manage multiple priorities at the same time
7. High level understanding and practical application of all areas of end to end payroll including:
8. Auto-enrolment pensions
9. Statutory payments
10. Holiday pay legislation
11. Minimum wage legislation
12. HMRC and RTI legislation
13. Directors payments
14. Basic HR/employment law awareness
15. Previous significant payroll administration experience and knowledge of payroll processing. Experience should be in multiple payrolls and/or payrolls of significant sizeplexity
16. Good organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail
17. Clear and effectivemunication skills – telephone, letter and e-mail writing
18. Good oralmunication skills in order to speak with a wide range of internal and external contacts
19. Self-motivated and able to work without supervision, whilst also working well within a team environment
20. Positive approach to problem solving
21. Confident when interacting with clients and third parties
22. Flexible and adaptable
23. Ability to judge and identify situations to bring to manager attention
24. Able to keep sensitive information confidential
25. Full UK driving licence and own transport
