The Role:
As a Key Stage 3/4 Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging science lessons to students who may experience barriers to learning. You will have the opportunity to use creative teaching methods to ignite students' interest in the subject, while also providing the emotional and academic support they need to succeed. You will work collaboratively with other teachers and support staff, ensuring that each student's learning needs are met in a therapeutic setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, ensuring the curriculum is tailored to meet the needs of our students.
Create an inclusive and positive classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and motivated to learn.
Use a therapeutic approach to teaching, adapting strategies to suit the emotional and social needs of individual students.
Provide regular feedback to students, parents, and colleagues regarding progress, achievements, and areas for improvement.
Work alongside SENCOs, teaching assistants, and other professionals to support the holistic development of each child.
Foster a love for science and encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent learning.
Maintain effective communication with parents and carers, keeping them informed of student progress and well-being.
Take an active role in the school community, contributing to extracurricular activities and whole-school initiatives.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Science or a related field.
Experience teaching Science at Key Stage 3 and 4.
Knowledge and experience of teaching in a therapeutic or SEN (Special Educational Needs) setting, or a willingness to learn and adapt.
Strong understanding of how to differentiate and adjust teaching methods to meet diverse needs.
A patient, compassionate, and flexible approach, with a genuine interest in supporting vulnerable students.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
