Hours: 37 hours per week (Full-Time) (The post holder must be flexible to meet the demands of the role which may involve working other locations and outside the force area.)

Humberside Police is dedicated to ensuring community safety and building public trust and confidence through effective communication and engagement. As we strive to maintain a strong and positive presence both online and offline, we are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Social & Digital Media Officer to join our Corporate Communications team and lead our digital communications efforts.
We are looking for a creative and strategic individual to oversee the Forces external digital communications and platforms to enhance the reputation of the Force and increase public trust and confidence.
You will supervise a small team of Local Policing Engagement Officer and be the lead specific projects in digital and social media communications, assist the communications Senior Leadership Team in reviewing and executing our social media strategy, and align these efforts with our business plan to deliver the needs of the Operations Commands.
Key Responsibilities:
Recognise the importance and provides effective two-way engagement on social media and is able to use the correct tone and language in responding to and engaging with public comments to offer a voice for the force on digital channels.
Helps to maintain the corporate identity and brand of Humberside Police across all social and digital media channels.
Provides effective and efficient written and visual communications and information which positively and proactively promotes the force and enhances community safety and reassurance through digital communication channels and products to reach a range of external Force.
Develop and deliver advice and training to enhance the digital communication capability of the workforce and to promote the use of digital and social media internally to increase our reach and opportunities to increase confidence and satisfaction within our communities.
Monitor, analyse and evaluate the use of social and digital media, compiling reports to highlight best practice, performance and engagement, implementing and embedding proven methods to improve service delivery.
Offer strategic advice on all social and digital media communications to the senior management team.
Performs such other duties as reasonably correspond to the general character of the post and are commensurate with its level of responsibility.
What the role requires:
Have a high level of academic ability supported by a communication related degree or equivalent professional qualification.
Thorough working knowledge of internal and external communications best practices.
Significant experience of working in a social and digital media role in a large, complex organisation.
Has experience of writing copy and producing content for social and digital media channels. Is able to source own material to produce positive news. Experience of producing videos/photography
Excellent leadership skills and the ability to inspire a team.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Ability to influence and negotiate with partner organisations and senior leaders in the business.
Ability to think outside of the box and consider the wider implications.
