We are looking for a Warehouse Supervisor (Logistics and Distribution). In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team, driving the delivery of Quality, Cost, and Delivery targets by focusing on continuous improvement and standardization, and promoting a team-based culture.
Responsibilities:
* Act as a role model for team members and other Supervisors.
* Manage the allocation of work on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, controlling headcount and overtime budgets.
* Establish the customer as the primary focus of the work of the Area.
* Ensure delivery of team targets.
* Manage team performance through job instruction, regular reviews, and team meetings.
* Assess training needs and create skills training plans to ensure adequate day-to-day cover on the team.
* Monitor team performance (targets, absence, skills, conduct) through appropriate performance management processes.
* Create recruitment plans with HR Advisor/Oracle and contribute to recruitment and selection of new staff.
* Manage team budget, including all aspects of cost, within established guidelines.
* Act professionally when dealing with both internal and external customers.
* Ability to cover for the Distribution Manager's absence.
Managing Communication:
* Provide daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports on team targets.
* Develop and maintain visual management boards in the Area.
* Implement communication processes - Team Meetings, Daily Team Briefings, etc.
Managing Processes:
* Ensure standard operating procedures are created, communicated, and maintained for every process in the Area.
* Pursue the elimination of waste through regular review of processes and application of continuous improvement tools.
* Manage exceptions to standard processes efficiently, ensuring proper communication and training for team members.
Manage the Environment:
* Lead housekeeping initiatives in the Area.
* Ensure Health and Safety standards are communicated and adhered to.
* Deliver and evaluate Health and Safety training to all team members.
Key Deliverables:
* Daily: Resource planning, daily production meeting, daily team brief, team management (absence, punctuality, performance), smart targets, housekeeping/hygiene.
* Ad-Hoc: Accident reporting, warehouse tours, contractor controls, workwear (PPE), disciplinary actions, interviewing potential team members, training, updating SOP manual, risk assessment review.
* Weekly: Team Leader Area Reports, update Team Boards, Health & Safety Audit, new starter reviews, cost and performance meetings, resource planning.

* Experience in logistics, warehousing, or distribution.
* Good oral and written communication skills.
* Strong work ethic and initiative to learn processes.
* Ability to lead the team.
