A vacancy has arisen for a School Wear Department Supervisor. The ideal candidate would have a wealth of experience in both administration and retail. The role is full time (40 hours a week). You will need to be skilled at prioritising and co-ordinating duties. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, well organised and enjoy working in collaboration with other members of the Red Oak Wear team. The key day to day tasks would be as follows: Key Day to Day Tasks Supervising the running of the shop during opening times - assisting customers, replenishing stock, keeping the shop tidy, using our EPOS system, processing customer orders, managing the till float, running end of day reports and cashing up. Keep stock room organised, making sure every item is barcoded and stock is clearly labelled allowing easy access for all school wear / shop staff. Regular stock checks for all products and transferring stock when required. Processing, picking, packing and timely despatch of online orders. Organise deliveries using our courier(s) website(s) and print daily postage manifests. Check back-order progress and chase departments and suppliers where necessary. Keep online order paperwork up to date. Understanding and recognising stock and brands for individual Schools. Understanding and recognising stock and brands from multiple suppliers. Organise and attend pop up shops when required. Answer customer queries over the phone. Dealing with customer complaints and looking at ways to overcome these. Assisting in seeing in stock of Schoolwear deliveries and entering stock accurately into EPOS system. Monitor School wear emails to ensure timely responses to customers. Ensuring your tasks for the day are completed and where necessary reporting to your manager early if there are any concerns. Liaising with other departments to achieve targets. Keeping your area organised and tidy. Ensuring you do not run out of supplies including administration forms for shop and postal supplies. Placing requests for supplies with the School Wear Manger / Purchasing Department. In addition to the above, this role will be key in supporting the School Wear Manager with the following tasks: Supervising staff within the department and delegating tasks as appropriate. Maintaining stock levels for all products - assisting with running reports, planning & forecasting stock requirements. Nurturing relationships with schools and customers alike to ensure a good, efficient service is given at all times. Assisting the School Wear Manager with reviewing product ranges and looking at potential areas for growth and improvement. Assisting with Uniform Open Days/evenings where required. Supporting the School Wear Manager with Leavers Hoodies and School Direct Orders. The role will require a confident understanding of computer systems including Outlook, Excel and Word. Experience with EPOS systems and Sage would also be an advantage. Key Skills Required Retail experience. Stock control experience. Professional telephone and customer service manner. Positive attitude with a good level of problem-solving skills. Team player. Able to provide direction to team members as well as being able to take direction from School Wear Manager and other departments. Organised, self-motivated and shows initiative when working alone - there will be a high proportion of independent working. Computer literate and technology savvy. Able to plan daily and weekly workload at times under pressure, with daily and weekly reporting to manager on progress. Able to work well and keep a cool head under pressure. The role is an active job where you will be on your feet most of the day. As a small company you may be asked to help or provide cover in other departments and with tasks not necessarily associated to your role. If this is required, full training will be given.
