37 hours per week

We are looking to recruit three Housing Caseworkers on 2-year fixed-term contracts. You will be working with households who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. You will need to be able to work well under pressure and demonstrate creative thinking and empathy to provide tailored advice and support to households to try and prevent and relieve homelessness.
Ideally, but not essentially, you will have previous housing or Local Authority experience and an in-depth working knowledge of the Housing Act 1996 part VII (as amended by the Homelessness Act 2002, Localism Act 2011, and the Homeless Reduction Act 2017).

You are a Teignbridge District Council fit if you:
* Have a good level of literacy and numeracy – Equivalent to achieving GCSE Maths and English Grade C (4) or above.
* Have relevant experience and an understanding of housing, or transferable skills and the aptitude to learn quickly that would enable you to learn on the job and fit into the team.
* Have good attention to detail, are level-headed, and have a positive approach to your work.
* Are positive to change and collaborative working.
* Have good customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly and accurately with colleagues, members of the public, and partner agencies.
* Cooperate with others to achieve good outcomes as a team.
