What you’ll be doing

To hit our financial targets, we will support and deliver various cross-functional initiatives to provide competitive prices and customer-centric products, customer journeys, and services. We will do this in line with all legislation and regulation and make sure when things do go wrong, we have sleek processes to identify and resolve at pace and minimize customer and commercial impact. You will be using your pricing and underwriting skills and experience to help us achieve the financial targets. Key responsibilities include:
1. Delivery of price optimisation strategies designed to achieve business objectives.
2. Propose and deliver tactical changes to drive value or mitigate risk to plan.
3. Monitoring performance against plans, with deep dive activity in relation to performance anomalies as required.
4. Support financial planning process.
5. Support delivery of Pricing and cross-functional Initiatives.
6. Make sure all deliverables are well governed and have all relevant controls in place.
7. Continuous improvement of processes.
8. Support in upskilling the junior members of the team and establishing pricing best practices in the team.
What we are looking for
We are keen to meet enthusiastic, passionate, and curious individuals who can collaborate effectively across several teams and team members. They should also have:
1. Experience in Retail Pricing and Price Optimisation.
2. Strong understanding of the components of pricing algorithms and application of underwriting rules.
3. Understanding of key legislation and regulation applying to motor insurance and how this impacts pricing algorithms, models, customer premiums, and experience.
4. Strong numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for problem-solving.
5. Ability to communicate complex information in a simple way.
6. Experience of Radar, or alternative pricing software.
7. Experience of data manipulation using languages, such as SQL or Python.
8. Experience of statistical and mathematical techniques and proven experience of applying these effectively in General Insurance Pricing.
