Finance Assistant
OVERVIEW
Wishford Education are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Finance Assistant to support the development of the group of independent schools.
This is a broad role covering:
* Processing customer and supplier invoices
* Managing accounts receivable and payable
* Ordering supplies
* Reconciling the credit card and collating receipts
* Assisting with the purchase order process
* Early Years Funding claims
* Payroll administration
* Assistance with general office administration
Responsible to:
* Head of Financial Operations
Hours, Salary & Benefits:
Hours: Based at the group’s Support Office in Corsham, Wiltshire.
The role is year-round, on a permanent contract; flexible working arrangements can be discussed at application and interview.
Salary: £27,689.00 per year

Job Description:
* To process supplier invoices and match them with purchase orders and complete the purchase order tracker
* To liaise with suppliers to resolve queries
* To prepare payment runs accurately and on a timely basis
* To check and process employee expense claims
* To assist with the termly invoicing process
* To collect information regarding pupils’ extra-curricular activities and ensure that it is entered accurately onto each pupil’s account
* To assist with the administration of the grant funding for nursery pupils
* To process fee income received
* To follow the group’s credit control procedures to ensure that fees are received promptly
* To prepare bank reconciliations on a daily basis
* To process orders for school supplies
* To reconcile the credit card and collate receipts
* To ensure that the fixed asset registers are kept up to date
* To assist with the administration of payroll
* To assist with group reporting and the preparation of information for the year end audit
* To assist with the smooth running of the office
Person Specification:
The successful candidate will have the following qualities:
* Honesty, integrity and a sense of humour
* Accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines
* Adaptability, a ‘can do’ attitude and a willingness to pitch in to get things done
* Experience of accounting software (training will be given)
* Experience of payroll administration
* A good working knowledge of Excel
* An interest in education and understanding of the independent school model
