The Minerals Manager is the interface between Operations and other functions, in everything related to the products of the site (quarry producing mostly kaolin and silica, mainly for the ceramics, tiles, engobes & glazes, EGS, construction, glass and metallurgy industries). They escalate important issues that require relevant efforts across functions in terms of resources to the Director Operations. Your Impact in This Role You will monitor the continuous balance between quarry/site production volumes, geological/production-technical limitations and actual sales by: Supporting Quality Management reporting processes Controlling stock, providing input to production scheduling and sourcing Escalating potential issues to SPM in case balance cannot be restored by production/SCM level actions Escalating issues of insufficient supply You will propose initiatives and provide input to initiatives from the Strategic Product Manager (SPM) with relation to product portfolio, rationalisation (e.g. impact on packaging, supply allocation opportunities, inventory reduction opportunities, etc.), and execute them as “project” once approved. You will also act on input from commercial, operations or sourcing to submit a ‘request for product modification’ (and align with tech and/or sales as needed) and execute modifications after SPM approval. What You Bring to the Table With a bachelor's degree in Chemicals/Mineral and an engineering background in a heavy industrial environment (mining/minerals, cement, aggregates, etc.), or process industry, as well as experience with ISO9001:2015 You must have a broad breadth and depth of knowledge of processes, products and markets, ideally within the minerals/mining sector and be very IT literate. Finally, you must be a team player, be proactive, be able to work independently and have strong communication skills. Fluent English is vital for this role, as is the right to work in the UK.
