This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Registered Manager to join an established Brunelcare home rated as Good overall and Outstanding in the domain of Responsive by the CQC.
Main duties of the job
* To be the Registered Manager of the Care Home (Registering with the CQC within 6 months of starting) Fully conversant with CQC regulations and requirements
* The ability to problem solve through innovative thinking
* Leading and role modelling dementia specific care across the home with an embedded understanding of meaningful activities and making every moment matter
* Foster positive working relationships with commissioners and regulators
* Be the face of the home by liaising with families and all other stakeholders
* Able to effectively manage the financial accounts of the home in line with budgetary requirements
* To be a committed and passionate leader of a team of around 130 staff demonstrating effective roster management to ensure skill mix and safe staffing numbers

Job description
Job responsibilities
Overall purpose of the role
* To maintain full compliance with the regulations of the Care Quality Commission
* To engage with Commissioners and self funding clients regarding funding of placements
* To effectively lead and manage the team
* To promote a person centred ethos of care across the home
* To effectively manage the homes budget in all areas
Responsibilities
* To work in partnership with all to ensure that the home is fully compliant in these 5 key areas, Safe/Effective/Responsive/Caring/Well Led, with the Care Quality Commission.
* To work to ensure a minimum of a Good rating in the 5 KLOE domains when inspected by the Care Quality Commission.
* To be a pivotal part of the planning and coordination process regarding liaising with key commissioners and partners relating to funding of placements and formalising relationships with Local Authorities and the CCG.
* To recruit employees for the home in a variety of roles ensuring that suitable recruitment checks and procedures are followed.
* To identify and promote a positive, person centred culture of care from the outset and ensure that this is embedded across the team.
* To work with the Senior Management Team to ensure that budgets are managed within agreed targets and are understood.
* To foster effective relationships with residents, relatives, visitors, employees and fellow health professionals in order to develop an open framework of communication involving all in the running of the home.
* To work in partnership with other Managers from across the Charity in order to create effective networks based upon the sharing of best practice.
* To work in partnership with the GP Practice who will be providing services to the residents in the home. This will involve attending quarterly review meetings in line with the Local Enhanced Service Agreement.
* To work to develop the home as a Community Hub forging links with local community groups, schools etc. and encouraging the outside community to become part of the home.
* To represent Brunelcare and the home in a positive and professional manner
Person Specification
Skills Essential
* A passion and commitment to the highest standards of clinical and person centred care through inspirational leadership
Experience Desirable
* Previous experience (5 years or more) as a care home registered manager
Qualifications Essential
* Registered Nurse - active on the NMC register or an experienced Social Care professional with Level 5 QCF/NVQ or equivalent
