The Role
The HR Business Partner will be responsible for providing expert advice and support to leaders on employment matters, coaching people leaders on best practice in managing and developing their teams. The role will also support in establishing HR programs, in pursuit of business objectives and priorities.
Fostering our Performance-based culture in multiple regions - UK, USA, Manila, the role will be responsible for driving effective case management through the coaching of our people leaders, applying our policies to support fair and positive outcomes. As a HR Business Partner you will also be responsible for coaching line managers to drive performance in the organisation.
Responsibilities:
Stakeholder management
1. Developing and maintaining productive and collaborative relationships with colleagues of all levels demonstrating professional credibility.
2. Partner with first line managers to implement effective HR policies and practices that will support the growth of a business.
3. Managing staff relationships, responding to any queries or problems that they have and managing their expectations.
4. Provide timely information and/or education for all levels of a company on People issues.
Case Management:
1. Responsible for managing a caseload of various complex ER issues using your knowledge in ER and employment law from receipt to conclusion ensuring capture of management information across UK and US jurisdictions.
2. Collaborate with the relevant internal stakeholders, as required, for referral of high-risk ER cases including claims and Occupational Health.
3. Leading management of casework across employee lifecycle from attendance, performance, capability, grievance and disciplinary. Making best practice recommendations to support and advise line managers.
Performance Management:
1. Developing and coaching people managers in performance management of employees by leading the capability-related casework, guiding and advising managers in line with relevant policies.
2. Partner and coach first line managers on how to lead teams, performance manage and ensure employee delivery on development goals.
3. Educate, coach, and partner with managers on how to performance manage and improve employee delivery on development goals.
Policy Management:
1. Review and amendment of all internal People policies, to comply with legislation and best practice.
2. Preparing guides and training for people managers that support their ability to manage performance, disciplinary, grievance and sickness in our business.
3. Keeping up to date regarding developments in human resources practices, employment legislation, and implementing the necessary changes.
Reporting:
1. Involved in preparing ad hoc and regular management reports, monitoring and reporting key metrics, such as turnover and retention rates and engagement statistics.
2. Using HR information systems to access, input and compile data that identifies trends and themes in our business.
3. Effective verbal communication to staff of all levels and the written communication skills to produce succinct correspondence and reports.
People Team:
1. Providing support and guidance to the HR operations team and payroll.
2. Supporting the utilisation of our learning ecosystems and People Knowledge Hub.
3. Supporting the Head of People on the wellbeing provision.
4. Support the Head of People in the delivery of HR programmes as required - this could include TUPE transfer, restructuring, outsourcing, engagement, annual performance cycles and compensation.
Experience and Skills:
1. Excellent Employment Law understanding in the UK, hands-on experience of running a range of complex cases.
2. Thorough knowledge of relevant HR policies and procedures and experience of writing guides to support and drive change in performance management.
3. Demonstrated analytical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. Critical thinker with success in developing innovative solutions to business issues.
4. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
5. Demonstrated credibility and integrity in communications to ensure information flows upward and downward.
6. Ability to listen and understand the needs of the employees, together with those of the company.
7. Ability to stylistically adapt communication based on audience.
8. High integrity/will stop at nothing to safeguard compliance standards and company values.
9. Ability to manage multiple, complex issues and prioritise projects concurrently.
10. Lead first line managers in assessment and diagnosis to turn problems solving into action.
11. Provide and demonstrate change management experience. Restructure and TUPE, complex case management, partnering during change.
12. Demonstrable experience of manager coach and influence to achieve business results.
13. Use knowledge of the business or the ability to probe for required understanding of business/context in order to properly align solutions or problem solving approaches.
Essential:
1. Minimum 2 years experience in a HR Business Partner role.
2. Successful experience as an HR Business Partner in a 200 employees + business.
3. Complex case management experience.
4. Commercial, and can understand Data Analytics and use spreadsheets.
5. Able to interpret data and provide insights.
6. Employee policy and legislation knowledge.
7. Experience in developing HR policies and processes.
8. Strong stakeholder management.
9. CIPD qualified (or equivalent).
Desirable:
1. Experience of HR programs and practices, including UK and US employment laws and regulations.
2. Experience of running Employee Engagement programmes.
3. Managing programmes for employee wellbeing.
4. Supporting D&I initiatives.
5. Google suite experience.
