The business are a boutique building services consultancy based in London, renowned for their commitment to developing innovative, sustainable solutions for buildings in and around the city as a trusted contractor partner, they work closely with their clients throughout the entire project lifecycle, from initial design to practical completion.
Role Overview: As the Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will lead the technical discipline across multiple projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, energy-efficient, and sustainable building solutions. You will mentor and guide junior engineers, while also engaging in hands-on design work. This role demands excellent communication skills, as you will liaise with a variety of stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
·Lead mechanical engineering projects from initial concept through to practical completion.
·Develop and implement low-energy and sustainable building solutions.
·Supervise and mentor junior engineers, fostering their professional growth.
·Engage in design work, ensuring technical excellence and innovation.
·Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication.
·Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.
·Oversee project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure successful project outcomes.
Requirements:
·Minimum of 8 years of experience in building services consultancy.
·Proven track record in leading mechanical engineering projects, particularly in the context of sustainable and low-energy solutions.
·Strong leadership skills, with experience in mentoring and guiding junior engineers.
·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage relationships with various stakeholders.
·Hands-on design experience, with a focus on technical excellence.
·Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or equivalent professional recognition is highly desirable.
