Kidderminster – up to £55k with car & extensive benefits package
We are working with a forward-thinking and well-renowned PE backed Security & Communications Group of companies operating across the UK who are recruiting a Quantity Surveyor for their Kidderminster office.
Due to the company’s continued success and growth, they are recruiting for an additional Quantity Surveyor.
My client is a highly technical, design-led business specialising in the integration of Life Safety, Security, and Communications systems. Design is one of the ‘three pillars’ of our business, along with Technology and Compliance.
Working as part of the project team but supporting the wider business, the Quantity Surveyor will provide expert advice on contractual matters.
On a day-to-day basis, you will manage the commercial and contractual administration of assigned projects and service contracts. You will also work closely with other departments, assisting the bid and technical teams with contractual governance, pricing, and risk management at contract tender stages.

What will you be doing day to day
1. Oversee a wide range of quantity surveying duties including but not limited to:
2. Provide contractual advice to the business and operational delivery teams
3. Administration of the commercial and contractual aspects of assigned projects & contracts
4. Management of project costs, identifying opportunities for savings and driving value
5. Preparing and submitting payment applications and assessing sub-contractor applications
6. Administer contractual terms and conditions for suppliers and sub-contractors
7. Proactively identifying risks and managing variations and changes to contracted scope
8. Prepare and submit KPI’s, job costings, and financial reports as necessary
9. Assess potential contractor and supplier claims and make recommendations for settlement
10. Finalise contractor accounts and close out contracts.
Who we are looking for
Skills & Personal Qualities:
1. Strong financial skills, including P&L and Cashflow
2. Excellent commercial and contractual awareness
3. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
4. Strong communication and negotiation skills
5. Good analytical and critical thinking skills.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. At least 3 years’ working experience as a QS
2. Preferably degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar discipline
3. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the Mechanical and Electrical sector.
