6 Months Fixed Term Contract, Full Time (35 hours per week) Hybrid - The Homestead, York / Homeworking (1 to 2 days per week in person in The Homestead) About the role We’re seeking a Payroll Assistant, to join our in-house shared services team, to deliver 3 payrolls to around 700 colleagues. You will be part of a supportive and busy team in a fast-paced environment As our Payroll Assistant, you’ll accurately process timesheets, expenses, absence data, starters, leavers, and any other changes onto the payroll system. Assisting with balancing and reconciliation checks and the inputting and checking of monthly payroll data. You will deal with straightforward payroll queries, referring more complex queries to the Payroll Officers or Team Leader. In addition to routine tasks such as filing, data saving, you’ll also work closely with managers and the embedded People Teams to ensure all records on the payroll system are up to date, accurate and comply with the Data Protection Act. About you We’re looking for someone who has end to end payroll experience and thrives working within a busy environment, to provide an effective and professional payroll administration service. You must be customer-focused with great time management skills. You’ll have a good understanding of payroll legislation and will be comfortable using computerised payroll systems packages. Experience of the Civica payroll software would be a distinct advantage. With a positive, friendly approach and good interpersonal skills, you’ll have a natural desire to offer a good service and be able to build strong relationships with people at all levels across the organisation.
