An opportunity has come up within a Good Ofsted rated school within the Stockton locality. The school primarily supports students with SEMH so a key understanding and experience within this area is a must.
Job Duties:
1. Developing and delivering tailored teaching plans to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
2. Implementing strategies to address Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges in the classroom
3. Collaborating with colleagues to create inclusive learning environments
4. Assessing student progress and adapting teaching methods accordingly
5. Providing feedback and support to students, parents, and carers
Required Qualifications:
6. Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
7. Specialism in Science
8. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Education:
A PGCE in Education with a focus on SEN
Experience:
Prior experience working with students with SEMH needs
Knowledge and Skills:
9. Understanding of SEN teaching strategies and best practises
10. Ability to differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs
11. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
12. Organisational and time management abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
13. Additional training in SEN support
14. Experience in teaching Science subjects
Working Conditions:
This role requires working full-time hours in a school setting, collaborating with colleagues and supporting students with SEN and SEMH needs.
