Support Worker (Internally known as an Enablement Assistant) Location: Woodley, Berkshire Employment type: Permanent Hours: Full time and Part time hours Shifts times: 08.30 to 2030 pm (working alternate weekends) Pay Rate: £12.50 Essential : Car driver with UK driver’s licence About the person you will support: The person you will be supporting is a 23-year-old female living in her own home in Woodley, Reading. She is supported on a 2:1 ratio and is looking for assertive team members who can motivate, encourage and support her to live her very best life. Lillie has a diagnosis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism, Oppositional Defiant Disorder and Anxiety Disorders. Lillie has a real love for animals and would like her team to support her to do things that would incorporate this within her activity schedule. Lillie can make herself snacks such as scrambled eggs, however, requires verbal prompts with cooking, cleaning her home, and shopping. We are looking for team members who are motivated and assertive to help support Lillie when she is anxious. Friends and family are very important to Lillie, and she really enjoys spending time with them and talking about them with her Team members. Lillie is an active teenager & enjoys all the things that teenagers like to do, Cinema, swimming, having her hair & nails done, shopping for new clothes Lillie can struggle to engage socially and at times can respond to situations that confuse her, through a variety of behaviours that can be harmful to herself and others. Team members need to be kind & caring but also, they must be confident & resilient in maintaining boundaries. Within PBS4, we call Support Workers ‘Enablement Assistants’. As an Enablement Assistant you will have the support of a team of people dedicated to supporting that person. You will also be able to access support from the Enablement Manager, Deputy Enablement Manager and the Positive Behaviour Support Clinician who provide you and the team with management and leadership.
